Graduation

Post by Rogem on 5/12/2013, 09:27

So, since I'm an egocentric fuck, I decided to inform you guys that I'm graduating from highschool today. It's a slightly bigger thing than in America, seeing how our studies in highschool match those you guys do in the first two years of college/university and highschool.

And we have a snowstorm on this glorious day.
I got my highest scores in English and Finnish, ranking in top 10% of the people taking the same exams.

Gratz! You are now a semi-functioning member of society. I hope you're proud of yourself.

Yes, I'm very proud of myself.

However, I'm not all that proud about the society. Democracy sucks.

Better pep talks than those I see in comics: "now you are one step closer from mindlessly working 60 years of your life at minimum wage somewhere where your degree isn't worth peanuts, only to then die from a painful disease uncovered by your healthcare" Razz

The world ain't that bad, it's getting better, actually. I am pretty sure it is loads better already where Rogem is at.

You have to stop reading Dilbert.

Especially if you're in IT. In fact, you're in IT, right?

It wasn't read in Dilbert, though I know that's a good place for finding such satire. It was one of the comics included in the book we are seeing in my French studies.

I was in IT, I got fed of the way of life of an IT. Now I am heading into psychology :B

Personally, I'll be heading over to Theology in the university.

That is, if I can pass the exams.

Well, actually, it's more of research on the humanity and the large number of religious societies. And how do you know that they're make-believe? Were you there, two thousand years ago, witnessing the events of the New Testament?

And your opinion would be more assuring if it had capital letters.

Vitriol's opinion would be more assuring if he weren't busy trolling 99.9% of the time. It's like the whole wolf cry tale, his credibility is sub-zero by now. /meh

To be entirely fair to Vitriol, his analysis of Theology is on spot. It IS like History but with obvious political penchants and almost always taught in private diploma mills, at least here!

So happens that a stopped clock is right twice a day.

EDIT :

Napoleon Bonaparte didn't exist, he's a CONSPIRACY BY THE FRENCH to make us think they're more awesome than they actually are! You can't prove me wrong because you weren't there in the French Revolution and the dawn of the modern era!

The problem with Vitriol isn't that he spouts nonsense, he can be quite right on the things he says, the problem is the method he uses. He isn't trying to inform people or bring light to a discussion, he just wants to torture people with extreme cynicism. And if he can use the truth, albeit in extremely sarcastic or offending ways, the much better.

sorry buddy. you could be learning a useful skill in the trades at the very least. you would be producing something real. but nope nope nope you've chosen to wank about over some useless fairy tales and get paid to do it. talk about useless. even the lowest levels of church workers are more useful than you are. they organize events and do community work. but its okay because they will pay you well if you can get a job. after all, a myth cannot sustain itself without fools to propagate. and in the 21st century, the church needs fools more than ever.
