Homunculus

Post by Rogem on 19/4/2013, 23:43

So, I'm leveling an alchie as a side character to my priest (face it, SNs without insta-cast aren't fun, especially when they shoot once every minute with a bow), but I can't figure out what I'm missing. Tips? Surprised

Someone had this problem recently and it was about using the wrong manual to create the embryo... well, give us more details, what are you using?

I have the basic potion creation manual... I'm not too excited about going ahead and buying all the manuals, though :/

Edit: Ah, I found the topic. For future reference:

- You need a special manual for creating the embryo.
- You don't need the basic potion creation guide for embryos.
- The special manual is bought in the south-eastern building in St. Capitolina, in the southern part of it.

I'll continue here, since the topic name is appropriate...

So, after getting a lif, I'm having problems with the AI. She doesn't use any other state besides "passive".

Any tips? Surprised

Are you using MouAi? If you are, try typying shift+T (I think it was that, if not it might be shift+R, or ctrl+R or ctrl+T, something like that) that changes your homunculus behavior from passive to agressive.
If you already tried that, it might be that MouAI for lifs make them passive always, and then you have to force them to attack everytime, it's different for other homunculus though.

I'll try with Filir today... But I changed the homu state toggle to B from the default Alt+T... no effect. Gonna try playing

And yea, I'm using Mou's AI. If I was half arsed to do it, I'd open the code and check it manually.

Found the problem after finally resolving to open the scripts. Skot has been using this one tutorial... Well, at least it made it easy to find what I need to change - one "A" to a "B".

EDIT: And this marks the point where I'll start making my own freaking AI. This is just WAAAY too clumsy. I got owned by a level 90 mob the second I went to get some tea.

There are tutorials for Homunculus AI? I recall I just read the default AI file, and learned from that to adapt to my idea of how the AI should behave.

I now realize that there was supposed to be a way to tell your passive pets to be aggressive, so I hadn't even tried to change anything in the MouAI to account for that.

What should be the change? What is this "A" to "B" thing you speak about?

Yea, there's like one tutorial, which had pretty much 100% equivalent script to yours, minus a couple of comments, I think.

Basically, there's a part in the Homu AI that tells the homu to either act passive or aggressive, based on their type. These were called AttackTypeA and AttackTypeB or something like that. Type A was passive, type B aggressive.

Also, I dropped the project. I don't think I have any usable files left...

I have been using skot's AI for my Lif, and have never encountered any major problem with it =o

But I also hotkeyed Emergency Avoid and Healing Touch so that I can use them manually in case my Lif forgets to use them xD
